About the Project

Valor Crossing is a 66 rental unit affordable housing development located in Dublin, CA across the street from the West Dublin/ Pleasanton BART station.

Bright Green Strategies administered the GreenPoint Rated verification during both the design and construction phases. BGS also provided quality control testing for the installed ventilation systems to ensure that the designed amount of fresh air actually gets delivered to tenants.

This project had unique mandatory ventilation requirements due to its close proximity to Interstate 580. Because of these requirements BGS was requested to do performance testing for both the exhaust and supply systems to a sampling of units. After testing, it was discovered that the system was not working according to the design documents. BGS facilitated the retesting of all units by the installer to ensure the systems were adjusted to perform as designed.

Other services provided by BGS included HERS verification of energy features for CMFNH, HERS verification of installed solar thermal system for NSHP, Quality Insulation Installation (QII) verification, and technical support relating to green building and ventilation requirements.
